At 7 PM Thursday October 24, 2019 , due to water main construction, the section of Frenchtown Road between RT 2 (South County Trail) and Adirondack Drive will be closed to all motor vehicle
traffic until 4 AM Friday morning. There will be detour signage in place directing all Frenchtown Road traffic to use either Middle Road or South Road. The work will again take place at night to minimize the effect on motorists, Frenchtown School, and the East Greenwich Fire Station. The road will be opened to traffic as soon as the work is complete.

Frenchtown School and the adjacent neighborhoods can be accessed by using the western side of Frenchtown Road accessible from Tillinghast Road. That (red) section of Frenchtown Road from Rt 2 to Adirondack Road will only be accessible by the residents living in the houses on either side of the construction.
The actual
work will take place between 874 and 875 Frenchtown Road. 874
Frenchtown Road and lower numbers can access their homes from RT 2 after speaking
with the detail officers. 875 Frenchtown Road and higher numbers can access their
homes from the west side of Frenchtown Road.
On Friday morning, the road should be open to motor vehicle traffic. There will be closures for paving, but the road is expected to be fully open by 4 AM.
Any
questions may be directed to the East Greenwich Police Dept. at (401)884-2244.
