For your widest distribution. Please be informed that RI E911 is experiencing audio failure for all inbound COX landline VOIP phones. We have confirmed through diagnostics that the problem lies somewhere within the COX lines. A statewide public warning is going out shortly. Anyone calling us on a COX landline with a VOIP phone cannot be heard and they cannot hear us. The call goes through and we can see the number and an address but that is all. A resourceful nurse in a nursing home called from her personal cell after four failed attempts from the office line. We will let you know when the landlines are operable once again.
