[ARCHIVED] General Election Mail In Ballot applications being distributed.

Vote

The Secretary of State is sending an application for a mail in ballot for the upcoming general election to every registered voter.  This is being done to provide for an alternative to in-person voting due to the Covid-19 situation.

If you have already submitted an application for the general election you can disregard this bulk mailing being done by the Secretary of State’s office.

The application must be completed and submitted by October 13, 2020 at 4 PM for the general election.

The actual ballot will be mailed to the registered voter once the application is processed by election officials.

To vote, mark your ballot and place it in the Voter’s Mail Ballot Certificate envelope, sign the envelope and return it in the postage-paid envelope.

Your mail in ballot must be received by 8 pm on November 3, 2020 to be tabulated.  Election officials will compare the signature on the Voter’s Mail Ballot Certificate envelope with the signature on the ballot application.  The ballot will be placed into a voting machine to be tabulated once the two signatures are verified.

Voters should visit vote.ri.gov. to track the status of a mailed in ballot.

Additional information is available at the Mail Ballot Guide for RI Voters.
