[ARCHIVED] East Greenwich Welcomes Interim Fire Chief Kevin Robinson

On Monday, January 22nd, the East Greenwich Town Council confirmed the appointment of Kevin Robinson for the role of interim fire chief of the East Greenwich Fire Department.  Chief Robinson has thirteen years’ experience as fire chief of the Marshfield Fire Department in Marshfield, Massachusetts. He has also served as an instructor and coordinator for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy for more than twenty years, where he has led numerous fire officer training programs within the State of Massachusetts. 

Chief Robinson served for the Marshfield Fire Department for more than 37 years, beginning as a firefighter/EMT before being promoted to fire lieutenant, deputy fire chief, and fire chief during his tenure. Over the course of his career, Chief Robinson has been awarded various special recognitions, including the Deputy Cliff Hunt Valor Award and the American Legion Medal of Heroism. He holds Associate’s degrees in fire science and business administration from Massasoit Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in fire administration from Salem State College. Chief Robinson also completed the chief fire officer management program at the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute and the executive fire officer program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and is the former chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Local 2568.
