Board of Assessment Review - This is a three member board with two alternates who serve three year terms.  This board hears appeals by property owners concerning the amount of assessed valuation as determined by the Tax Assessor.  The board meets when necessary on a Wednesday evening.

Board of Canvassers - This is a three member board which meets when necessary, especially during an election year.  This board discharges all of the functions, powers, and duties of the Town Council concerning nominations, elections, registration of voters and canvassing rights, the preparing and correcting of voting lists, and other related matters.

Cove Management Advisory Commission - The seven members of the Cove Management Advisory Commission are appointed to terms of three years.  The commission develops regulations for boating safety, use of the cove, moorings, permits and fees.  It identifies, marks, and maintains accessibility to public rights-of-way, it establishes implementation procedures, and it promotes and coordinates activities that encourage improvement to the cove.  The Commission meets on the first Thursday of the month except April and July when they meet on the second Thursday.

Finance Advisory Board - This is a five member board established to advise the Town Council and the Town Manager on matters pertaining to finance and budget policies.  The board advises on proposals to float notes or bond issues and it advises on finance administration, investment of funds, and issues involving town audits.  This board meets when necessary.

Historic District Commission - This board is comprised of seven members and one alternate.  The commission reviews all applications for new construction and alterations to existing property in the historic district and for outlying historic properties.  The commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month.

Housing Authority - Members of the East Greenwich Housing Authority serve as governing officers of this public-corporate entity, one which functions as a developer and landlord of low income housing programs.  There are five members on the board serving five year terms.  This board meets the second Monday of the month.

Juvenile Hearing Board - This board has five members and two alternates established to hear all cases referred by the Chief of Police with respect to persons resident in the town under the age of 18 who are charged with violating the criminal laws of the state or the town.  The board meets on the third Wednesday of the month.  Members are appointed to three year terms.

Municipal Land Trust - The Land Trust is comprised of seven appointees of the Town Council and members serve five year terms.  The Land Trust is responsible for acquiring and managing real property in the town for open space, agricultural and recreational use, protection of ground water resources, protection of historic resources, wetlands, and wildlife habitat, and for public access to the shore.  The Land Trust meets on the third Tuesday of the month.

Personnel Board - This board is made up of five members who serve three year appointments.  The board advises the Town Council and the Town Manager on matters of personnel administration, including compensation of all elected officials of the town and school committee.  This board meets when necessary.

Planning Board - This board consists of seven members and one alternate.  The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing all subdivisions of land and major development plans, and makes recommendations to the Town Council on matters pertaining to amendments to the zoning map and ordinance and the Comprehensive Community Plan.  The Planning Board meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.  Appointments are for three year terms. 

Zoning Board of Review - This board hears applications for special use permits, dimensional variances, and use variances for land development.  It also hears appeals of decisions of the Building Official, the Planning Board and the Administrative Officer, and hears Comprehensive Permit Applications under the requirements of the Rhode Island Affordable Housing Act.  The Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month.  The Board consists of five members who serve five year terms and two alternates who serve one year terms.  The Zoning Board meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.
