Licensing and Permits
Several licenses and permits are issued from the Town Clerk's office. This list is limited to Dog Licenses, Residential Overnight Parking, Private Detective, Secondhand Dealers, Laundry, Holiday Sales, Flea Market/Festival, Trade Name, Victualing and Liquor Licenses (including ancillary licenses).
More applications will become available through the Town's on-line permits and business licensing system as time goes on. Thank you for your patience!

Dog Licenses
Per Rhode Island State Law all dogs over the age of 6 months are required to be licensed. Dog licenses are issued annually in the month of April. The license is good from May 1 until April 30.
The cost is $8 per license and there is a maximum of 3 dogs per household.
In order to license a dog, a current rabies certificate must be presented along with the application.

Print and complete Dog License Application.
Mail with rabies certificate and check or money order payable to Town.
If applying by mail please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. - IN-PERSON ~ Visit POLICE STATION on APRIL 9th
Open Registration Event from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Residential Overnight Parking Permits
These permits allow a personal vehicle to be parked in specific areas downtown from the hours of 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. The permits are renewable annually by May 1.
Driver's license and proof of residency in the form of a current lease must be presented if NOT a registered voter. The cost is $25 each.

VALID MAY 1, 2022 – APRIL 30, 2023

THREE OPTIONS TO APPLY:
Must have digital image of driver’s license and proof of residency in the form of a current lease (if NOT a registered voter) to be uploaded (PDF preferred). Pay on-line option (service fee applied).
2) MAIL
Use Application Form (fillable), print and mail with copy of driver’s license and proof of residency in the form of a current lease (if NOT a registered voter). Include self-addressed stamped envelope and check or money order payable to Town of East Greenwich.
3) IN-PERSON ~ Visit TOWN HALL starting Friday, April 1st
Town Clerk’s office, 125 Main Street, 2nd Floor
Bring driver’s license, proof of residency in the form of a current lease
(if NOT a registered voter) and cash, check or money order payable to Town of East Greenwich.
NO PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED IF TAXES ARE PAST DUE.
