NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: TOWN OF EAST GREENWICH PLANNING BOARD
TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND DEVELOPMENT AND SUBDIVISION REVIEW REGULATIONS (LDSR's), SPECIFICALLY TO THE SCHEDULE OF FEES.
The Land Development and Subdivision Review Regulations are an appendix to the Town Code, known as Section A263. Sub-section 35 of A263 addresses the administrative fees associated with each level of plan review required by the Regulations. The Town of East Greenwich has not conducted an evaluation and update of its fee schedule for the review of land development and subdivision applications since 2010 so current fees do not fully capture associated costs. Sub-section 35 is thus currently proposed for revision. Minor revisions to Section 25 of the LDSR’s are also now proposed. This section, found at “§ A263-25 General Provisions: construction and/or improvement guarantees,” addresses inspection fees paid to the Public Works Department in conjunction with infrastructure and utility installations at new developments. Current fees do not reflect actual costs associated with the Town's assessment of improvements as constructed.

The Town of East Greenwich Planning Board will hold a REMOTE PUBLIC HEARING on August 5, 2020 at 7:00 PM relative to considering revisions to the schedule of administrative plan review fees associated with filing land development and/or subdivision proposals for Town approval. The proposal calls for moving to a “per unit” rather than a “per acre” calculation for new land developments. Other updates are also proposed. A copy of the full text of the proposed amendments is available for review - please contact the Planning Department at 401-886-8645. Alternatively, a digital version is attached directly to the posted agenda, found here. All interested persons are invited to attend the Public Meeting and be heard. Modifications to the proposal may occur as a result of the comments received during the hearing.
